CAM AWARDED STDF RESEARCH GRANT IN WIND ENERGY

The Centre for Advanced Materials has been awarded a major grant by Egypt’s Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) in renewable energy. The goal of the project is to develop made-in-Egypt wind turbine blades through a coordinated research, development and manufacturing effort. Specifically, design, domestic fabrication and international certification of a large wind turbine blade on the order of 27 m using advanced composite materials and structures is planned. Associate Dean of Engineering and CAM Director Prof. Yehia Bahei-El-Din leads CAM team in this project.
